 FITC is a world-class, innovation-led, and technology-driven knowledge organization, established in 1981 as a non-profit organisation limited by guarantee, based on the Company’s Act of 1968, in response to the recommendations of the Pius Okigbo Committee. The Committee was set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria to review the Nigerian financial system. FITC was established to provide innovative knowledge solutions and capacity building programmes that develop and strengthens resources for the Nigerian financial services sector through Advisory services, Learning, Research and Advocacy.

FITC is owned by the Banker's Committee, which comprises of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), all licensed banks, and discount housesinNigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Experienced Learning & Development Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • To support and grow the company’s mandate of providing learning solutions by designing, developing, and organising programs that meet strategic needs of clients,
  • To participate in the delivery of Learning & Development services, ensuring they are comparable to the best of anywhere in world.
  • To develop the prospects and customers for the company, identifying and designing strategic products and services required by clients, sell them and oversee the efficient delivery of these projects.
  • Precede all classroom engagements with a structured evaluation of the individual and organizational development needs of participants and clients.
  • Perform training needs assessment for discerning clients in the financial and non-financial services sectors.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor processes and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify gaps in processes and compliance measures.
  • Identify marketing opportunities and prepare quality proposals, attend pitches or proposal defence presentations to expand opportunities for Unit and meet set targets.
  • For effective training experience, you are to be creative to implement variety of learning methods and models, ensuring the set learning objectives are met
  • Assess the success of the learning programs deployed and identify most successful deployment methodology adaptable per client,
  • Provide the right data analysis of the entire learning program and the resulting insights and intelligence to be drawn from the program and made available for upscale of the further deployments and innovation of the entire solution and experience,
  • Ensure the choice of pedagogy style suitable for the organisation’s programs and peculiarity of customers are world-class and innovative in impact,
  • Benchmark competitors (local and global) to discern area of present competitiveness against efforts to enrich our areas of weaknesses for future competitiveness,
  • Coach and mentor new team members on all process quality areas and the company’s implementation methodology, and other organizational skills due to promote a positive image of the business and continuously market and sell as required.


  • Develop and implement training programs
  • Operate according to the organizations' budgets and negotiate the best deals to ensure they can work within the budget and deliver quality training programs.
  • Design and deliver online courses while considering how the material can apply to other training styles, such as workshops.
  • Assess and optimize and optimize training programs.
  • Oversee and develop the members of own unit.

Required Experience:

  • eLearning design experience and demonstrated expertise in the technical development,
  • implementation and troubleshooting of web-based training modules.
  • Measuring and evaluating impact experience
  • 8-10 years of professional expertise backed up substantial experience in L&D (Training &
  • Development)
  • Deep understanding of L&D and capacity building practices, challenges, trends and best-practices within the wider L&D industry.
  • Strong instructional design, coaching, facilitation and training skills with evidence of effective application across international contexts and culture.
  • Expertise in specific areas of Learning & Development practice, in particular utilizing a competency-based approach to staff skill building. (e.g. must demonstrate personal expertise in several of the following: learning strategy, needs analysis, programme design, curriculum design, instructional design, learning evaluation, e-learning, facilitation, competency design, competency assessment).

Other Requirements:

  • University Degree, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Relevant certifications in L&D Benefits
